COMBINE TEST: DAY 1

Testing Drills

Vertical Jump

Vertical Jump will be performed on a Vertical Testing Pad.  This gives the most consistent testing environment for vertical jump.  Athletes will stand on pad with both feet and with two feet jump straight in the air and land with both feet.  Athletes will be allowed to start athletic and land athletic.  No Tucking Knees to chest while jumping.

1 Step Vertical Jump

1 Step Vertical Jump will be performed on a Vertical Testing Pad.  This gives the most consistent testing environment for vertical jump.  Athletes will stand on pad with one foot and with other foot off the pad.  When athlete is ready to jump they will take the foot that is off the pad place it on the pad to gain momentum and jump with two feet jump straight in the air and land with both feet.  Athletes will be allowed to start athletic and land athletic.  No Tucking Knees to chest while jumping.

¾ Court Sprint

Athletes will start on the baseline in a split stance and run to the opposite free throw line.  It will be a hand start and electric finish to create the most consistent testing environment. Watch starts on athletes movement.




Lane Drill

Athletes will start on 1 side of the lane and base line.  Sprint to the elbow shuffle across the lane back pedal down to the opposite base line shuffle across the lane must touch the lane line and shuffle back sprint shuffle and back pedal to a finish.





Standing Broad Jump

Athletes will have 2 feet parallel jump as far as they can.










X Out Layups

Athletes will start under the hoop.  They can carry the ball to the Elbow and take one dribble for a layup.  Get the ball out of the hoop and run to the opposite elbow.  Athletes will be timed for 1 minute on the number of layups made.





5 Spot Shooting

Athletes will be timed for 1 minute on the number of shots they get off and they number of shots made.  The shots will be 2 baseline to elbow area shots and a transition 3.

SUMMER BASKETBALL PROGRAM: 


  • Project C.H.U.C.K. – a seven-week summer basketball camp for girls and boys, ages 7 through 18 that incorporates a daily study hall where participants read and discuss assigned books. This program started in 2001 and has served 3,085 youth.
    • D&R Sportsmanship Program – started in 2012 in conjunction with the WPIAL and Dignity & Respect Campaign, throughout the nine-week high school football season, a member of each “Game of the Week” team was selected by his teammates to receive the D&R Sportsmanship Award in recognition of treating others with dignity and respect.
    • Batch Packs – a back-to-school initiative to provide students with basic supplies they’ll need for the upcoming school year. More than 5,000 “Batch Packs” have been distributed since the program’s inception.
    • Best of the Batch Club – students who demonstrate excellence in school work, attendance, behavior, and extra-curricular activities are rewarded with a trip to the Pro Football Hall of Fame with Charlie Batch.
    • Batch-A Toys – an annual holiday toy drive, with Charlie and his teammates signing autographs for fans in exchange for new, unwrapped toys. More than 25,000 toys were distributed during the program’s first four years, with a goal of 10,000 toys during the 2012 holiday season.
    • Read Across America – Charlie visits five schools on March 2nd, Dr. Seuss Day, to share his favorite author with students.

PROJECT CHUCK SUMMER LEAGUE 2013
